Program Overview
Jet bridges (passenger boarding bridges) are critical infrastructure at airports, connecting terminal gates to aircraft and enabling the safe boarding and disembarkation of hundreds of passengers daily. When misoperated, a jet bridge can damage aircraft fuselages costing millions to repair, injure passengers or ground crew, and trigger costly flight delays. ICLM's Jet Bridge Safety Training is a specialized program designed for airport ground handling personnel, airline staff, and gate agents responsible for safe jet bridge operations.
A jet bridge weighs several tons and moves under motorized power. Contact with an aircraft skin, engine cowling, or wing root can cause serious structural damage. Passengers on the bridge during movement, incorrect alignment procedures, and failure to observe ground safety signals are among the leading causes of jet bridge incidents worldwide. Only trained and authorized personnel should operate jet bridges.
