ISO 45001 COMPLIANTDISH-APPROVED

Half-Day Training

Practical half-day certification program focused on operational safety, compliance confidence, and site-level risk control.

Program Overview

Hazardous gases are present in a vast range of industrial, laboratory, healthcare, and utility environments. Whether it's chlorine in a water treatment plant, ammonia in a cold storage facility, or compressed hydrogen in a welding shop, improper handling and storage can trigger catastrophic events. ICLM's Hazardous Gas Handling and Storage Training provides workers and safety professionals with the essential knowledge to manage these substances safely, legally, and responsibly.

Hazardous gases can be flammable, toxic, corrosive, oxidizing, or asphyxiating - and many are multiple hazard types simultaneously. Their behavior under pressure, during temperature changes, or following equipment failures demands a deep understanding of both the science of the gas and the engineering of the containment system. Untrained handlers are a danger to themselves and their entire facility.

Pre-Use Checks

Daily inspection discipline and hazard spotting basics.

Control Principles

Safe methods, sequencing, and decision making in operations.

Emergency Response

Incident communication and immediate response actions.

Core Learning Modules

Module 01

Classification of Hazardous Gases: Flammable, toxic, corrosive, oxidizing, and inert/asphyxiant gases - definitions and examples.

Module 02

Gas Properties: Vapor pressure, density relative to air, reactivity, toxicity thresholds, and physical state transitions.

Module 03

Reading SDS/GHS Labels: Understanding Safety Data Sheets and hazard labeling for compressed and liquefied gases.

Module 04

Cylinder Types and Identification: High-pressure cylinders, cryogenic vessels, tube trailers, and gas cabinets - their construction and markings.

Module 05

Cylinder Handling: Safe lifting, moving, securing, and transporting gas cylinders; preventing drops and valve damage.
