Program Overview
Crawler cranes are the giants of the construction world - machines capable of
lifting hundreds of tonnes, erecting entire bridge sections, and placing heavy process equipment in some of
the most challenging access environments imaginable. Their tracked undercarriage provides exceptional
stability without the need for outriggers, making them indispensable for large-scale civil, industrial, and
power generation projects. However, this capability comes with commensurate complexity and risk - and
operating a crawler crane without specialist training is an invitation to catastrophe.
The sheer scale of crawler crane operations means that errors have correspondingly large consequences. An
incorrect ground bearing capacity assessment can result in a crane sinking or toppling. An error in boom
assembly sequence can cause structural failure under load. Miscalculation of load radius during a tandem
lift can overload both cranes simultaneously. ICLM's Crawler Crane Operation and Safety Training addresses
every one of these critical competency areas, ensuring operators and lifting supervisors are prepared for
the full complexity of crawler crane work.
This training is designed for professionals who work with some of the most demanding equipment in the industry. ICLM's instructors combine technical engineering knowledge with practical field experience in heavy civil and industrial construction - delivering training that is directly applicable to the real-world challenges participants face on large-scale projects. Compliance with ASME B30.5 and OSHA crane safety regulations is integrated throughout.
