Program Overview

Process Safety Management (PSM) is a systematic framework for managing the integrity of operating systems and processes that handle hazardous substances, preventing catastrophic releases, fires, explosions, and toxic exposures that can result in multiple fatalities, massive property damage, and severe environmental harm. Unlike occupational safety, which focuses on individual worker protection, PSM addresses the systemic conditions and management failures that lead to major industrial disasters.

Module 03

Operating procedures - developing, reviewing, and maintaining written procedures for normal and emergency operations.

Module 04

Conducting Process Hazard Analysis - practical exercises in leading and participating in PHA studies.

Module 05

Emergency planning and response for process safety incidents - emergency shutdown systems and community notification.
